"R. Kelly was acquitted yesterday (June 13) on all counts in his child pornography trial in Chicago. The jury reached a verdict in less than eight hours of deliberation.

Kelly was charged with 14 counts of videotaping himself having sex with an underage girl, who prosecutors say was as young as 13. If convicted, he faced a minimum of four years in prison and a maximum of 15 years. He would also have had to register as a sex offender in Illinois.

Both Kelly and the now 23-year-old alleged victim had denied they were on the tape. Neither testified during the trial.

The prosecution's star witness was a woman who said she engaged in three-way sex with Kelly and the girl prosecutors said was on the tape. Defense attorneys argued the man on the tape didn't have a large mole on his back and Kelly does."

Remy Ma sentenced to eight years in jail

Remy Ma

Remy Ma was sentenced today (May 13) to eight years in prison for a shooting incident outside a New York nightclub last summer.

The rapper, whose real name is Remy Smith, was convicted of assault, weapon possession and attempted coercion. The sentence, which could have been up to 25 years in jail, came down from the New York Supreme Court.

Remy Ma was teary-eyed when she heard the decision, reports the Associated Press. The 26-year-old claims that the shooting was an accident and plans to appeal the decision.

Last month she announced plans to marry her fiancé, fellow rapper Papoose, while in jail. Her attorney said that the couple intend to go ahead with marriage plans despite the sentence.

Why Your Album Sucks! 7 Reasons

Here's a list of 7 reasons I feel make alot of new albums stink:

7. Producers - Why is it hot now to have 8 different producers? Is it so you can reach a broader amount of people? Because the downside to so many producers is a non-cohesive album. Pretty much it sounds like your packing a bunch of singles into one disc, aka like a mixtape, which last time I checked weren't worth more than four or five bucks.

6. Mastering Engineers Under Pressure - Last night I popped in that new Rick Ross - TrillaAnd realized that it had been cranked so loud during mastering (or maybe even during mixing) that Ross's voice was literally distorted the entire song! Not to mention that the songs somehow unnaturally got old after about 3-4 times of hearing them. It's as if my mind just got tired of the noise very fast. A&R's really need to cut the crap and let these engineers do what they do best.

5. Computers - New programs such as Fruityloops & Reason have placed the power of production into millions of new hands, in a way never before thought possible. Hit records are being crafted from preset sounds (see "Garage Band - Usher "Love In this Club") and by producers who have no idea how to EQ their drums or compress their snares. This has led to alot of songs out now being nothing more than songs that were sonically repaired by a mastering engineer (or in plain english, musical junk).
Yes it may be a catchy beat, but if it's not tuned right, your brain will tire of it fast.

4. Good Rappers are scared! - I have seen and heard many good lyricists who are afraid to get on stage and take on a crowd like their drug dealing counterparts. Many simply expect to get on stage with no charisma (see "swag") and expect for the crowd to remember their name, and every word to all three songs they performed. It simply won't happen! Their drug dealing counterparts know this, and that's why they choose to resort to a crunk ass hook and monster crowd pleasing. It works dude.

3. Radio - If I spent more than three lines on this, I'd be guilty of rambling on...
They only get payed to play the bullshit...Done!

2. Our Daughters (Black America) - Let's face it, deep inside this girl is a fucking freak who can't wait to get lose, and she's calling to request (or downloading on limewire) the latest "One night stand, leave ya p*ssy drippin," Plies song she can find. God Save Our Children!

1. Our Sons - And Again, we find our sons so thirsty to impress ^ (insert Our Daughters) that they need inspiration to pick up that gun, or to move that weight.
Hell, its pretty easy to figure things out after watching scarface a couple times, now every rappers album is an interpretation of that damn movie.
